St. Patrick's Day

It is interesting how the sudden color of green appears everywhere on St Patrick's Day and alongside copious drinking. Green architecture seems to sprawl everywhere and come alive in celebrations with the symbolic shamrock tainting many cities of the shades of richness. Green is symbolic to the richness in leaves and of the visible light located between yellow and blue as well as making up one of the additive primary colors. The associations one can make with green are huge and quite powerful - nature, environment movement, Ireland, spring, hope, and even envy. The below links illustrates the social and historical significance of the day as it is celebrated across the time zones.
